Vodka Jelly

This was a small quickly produced niche website but within a week it is listed on the first page of Google search for the term Vodka Jelly. Using the google keywords tool there are approx 6,600 searched for the broad term vodka jelly. Obviously this domain won’t make fortune but it should easily cover its registration costs and make extra revenue from the site with the amazon items.I have also added an amazon a-store which lists items which you pick from the amazon store or you can choose to let amazon pick items relevant to your websites content.

If you have never made Vodka Jelly or as the americans call it “Jello Shots”, then take a look at the website. There are some good tips about vodka jelly there and items from amazon such as this book called “The Art of Vodka Jelly”.

Update (SEPT 2009) – Vodka Jelly is now in first position in google and other search engines and gets approx 2500 to 3500 hits per month. Not bad for a quick minisite and makes some reasonable profits due to the google adsense and amazon affiliate advertising.

One of my completed websites is a Uk directory of fire engine limousine’s.  A company called Blazing Squad Fire Limo’s based in Essex wanted a new website to promote his business on the internet. The website was put together in a couple of days with images provided by the customer and his ideas on the design and layout of the website.

The new fire limo website promotes his business very well with pages based on the services offered such as Weddings, School Proms, Nights Out, Hen Nights etc. We will continue to promote his website with some back links and monitor the position of the website in the search engines to better it’s position and gain Blazing Squad Fire Limo’s more business.

My original site was written in HTML and although it was good to learn the basics and develop a website from scratch with text, images, links etc., Wordpress is such a good piece of software that i have decided to change my home webpage.

As with all software there is a learning curve, but wordpress is probably the most user friendly of any software that i have used…and its free!!. I would recomend anybody producing small websites from scratch whether it is a blog or an information website to try wordpress. To be honest it will save you a lifetime with all the avaialble themes and plugins, which help you set up the site, galleries, and so much more.

Obviously the learning will grow as the website builds.
